Due to lack of support, further development of the SIMS project has been cancelled. I am extremely thankful to those that did offer their comments and ideas, and who kept things moving along, allowing me to further my web programming expertise. It really has been fun and I am looking forward to my next web development adventure.

An online rating system would have gone a long way towards (1) making information more readily available to all players, and laid the groundwork for more shufflers to get more involved in "the system", (2) dramatically decreasing the workload of those who have to collect and compile the ratings, and most importantly, (3) brought to surface the inequities in our system that keep it from maturing and moving forward to a more efficient system.

Anyway, the current system has worked for many years and will continue to work for many more.

In the mean time, I will leave the web site as it is, so that you may use it, if for nothing else, as reference for retrieving rating and player info for 2000-2008. When the 2009 ratings are published, I will try to update the site to include this information as well.

Thanks for those of you who offered your positive comments and support.

The SIMS Team
