| In recent months there has
been virtually no changes made to the Computer Peas software. My development efforts
have been focused on the new addition to the Computer Peas website. This section of
the website, entitled SIMS (Shuffleboard Information Management System) will be a
data-driven, self-maintaining section of the site. What this means is that the
content will be created by you, without any intervention on my part (unless, of course,
people send in pornographic or inappropriate material). The system will be initially focused on Computer Peas users. SIMS will include information on shuffleboard players, their performance, upcoming tournaments, tournament signup, tournament results, photos, and a load of reports and statistics. The first version of the dialog that will connect Computer Peas to the SIMS section of the website has been implemented. By the way, in the process of implementing this dialog, I came across a number of bugs that are now fixed, so look for version 123 in the not-too-distant future. The exact release date of SIMS is impossible to say at the moment as there is still a significant amount of work to be done. This portion of the website is being built from the bottom up, using little or no existing web components. As soon as a the first presentable version of SIMS is ready, it will be posted, and your input and suggestions will be happily accepted. In the mean time, click the Next button, below, to check out the new dialog in Computer Peas to start to give you an idea of what SIMS is all about. |
