| This page exhibits some examples of statistical information showing various rating breakdowns and trends. Notice the graph at the bottom of the screen shows a sharp decline in the number of total rated players. The window at the top will allow you to take a closer look into this trend, by showing not only the number of players who were added or dropped, but exactly who they are and where they're from. Another program, not depicted here, includes a number of other useful statistics. One example worth nothing is a report that lists raters in most improved and least improved order from year to year. This report surfaces players that received significant rating changes providing for further exploration into why, for example, somebody went from a 1 to a 3. I believe this information should be public to all players, but most importantly, they should be available to the Bowers' Committee so that they possess the tools to easily spot problems and descrpencies in the ratings and take the necessary corrective actions. |
